secret songs #04

from the next record

Tues 25th August, LLIVELY Showcase, Burds Cafe, Jesmond

I’m taking songs from my next record on the road before they are recorded, while touring my recent album. After each show, I’ll share moments from the day and one new song.

secret song #04 - ALL NIGHT

SPECIAL MENTION TO: Laura Rosierse for putting together such a beautiful evening, Tim Gambles (another fabulous artist!) for amazing sound engineering, Krzysztof Furgała for being such a gentle and talented documenter of the night with video and photography and to Burds Cafe for the stunning vibes and food!

I felt really flattered to be invited to play as part of the LLIVELY Showcase at Burds Cafe in Jesmond this month. LLIVELY Showcases curates secret live music showcases across the North East and is run and hosted by the wonderful Laura Rosierse who I met earlier this year.

Opening the show was Lucy Why, who treated us to a set on the keys, showcasing her deeply heartfelt, emotional original songs. Her lyricism is instantly arresting, with clear influences of Holly Humberstone. I also hear notes of Gracie Abrams and Laufey breaking through here and there.

Cameron Wynn, an incredible talent on the guitar, held the room with his bluegrass, country-inspired originals with deceptively deep lyrics. For lovers of the 1960s Folk Revival and 70s Singer-Songwriter Movement, Cameron brings a truly unique, relatable and modern twist to the genre.
