JAY MOUSSA-MANN ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM *

THE LADY VANISHES.

Played on BBC Introducing • Featured on Fresh Faves

women’s rights gets personal

UK-based artist Jay Moussa-Mann returns with The Lady Vanishes, her new album inspired by the women’s rights movements of the 1970s and the parallels they still hold today.

Featured as a Fresh Faves artist, and with her music video Mediocre Men selected as an official selection for Sunderland Short Film Festival, Jay combines cinematic songwriting with storytelling to explore themes of love, loss and belonging.

The album moves through an array of character-led stories: a woman discovering independence in 1974 with her first credit card, the silent battles of girls at summer camp, women overlooked in the workplace, and the realities of carving out identity between cultures. Despite its themes, The Lady Vanishes balances emotional depth with memorable hooks and upbeat arrangements.

the physical album

Alongside the album, Jay has created a 32-page hardback companion book featuring full lyrics, original illustrations and commentary exploring the stories and inspirations behind the songs. The book also contains the album CD housed within an integrated sleeve, creating a collectible piece designed to be experienced as both a musical and visual narrative.

the album launch

To celebrate the release of The Lady Vanishes, Jay Moussa-Mann will perform a special headline launch show on Friday the 19th June at The Green Room in Stockton. She will be joined by Stockton-on-Tees actor-musician Izzy Neish and feature specially arranged acoustic performances from the album alongside curated support artists.
